How satellite-tracking works:
  1. The white shark comes up to the surface of the ocean
  2. The satellite-tag switches on and transmits a radio signal to the satellite
  3. The satellite receives the transmission, locates the position of the satellite-tag and re-transmits the message and the position to the land-based Argos-centers
  4. At Argos the information is processed and sent to Shark-Tracker
  5. The Shark-Tracker website displays the position of the great white shark on an online-map. Only with a small delay of 1-2 hours! This is why these tags are called "near-real-time-tags".
